Another lovely night...

So of course...dummy neighbors at 10pm last night started lighting off more fireworks. Woke up the kids again. Josh was super pissed. Called and left a message on the manager's office phone. I went outside to see if I could see which apt it was. As I came downstairs the First Watch security guy was there. I told him what was going on and he kept saying "okay, yeah." The blank look on his face told me he wasn't listening to me and certainly wasn't going to do anything about it. I turned to walk back up to the apt, and as soon as I did, he hightailed it to his car...right as they launched two more mortars. So this morning (at 7:30am...thank you very much) the apt manager called. She asked what was going on and I told her. She said "You need to call the police" I said "We did that, they said it was legal until 11pm" then she said that if the city said it was legal til 11pm, then they couldn't do anything about it. I asked about the apt complex quiet times of 10pm-6am. She said they can't override the city. Now maybe I'm wrong...but private property owners can make their own rules right? I thought that's how it worked. I mean, otherwise, couldn't someone come on to your lawn of your home and do whatever they wanted? Anyway, besides that...the fireworks they are launching are ILLEGAL. She also said I could call First Watch...yeah, I told her about talking to the Oh so helpful guy and that he was in his car as they launched two more. She said that First Watch is supposed to send them a fax every morning of complaints they get and she hasn't gotten anything. So she said she was going to have the maintenance guys see if they could find some debris to find out who's apt it is. I told her that it's happened two nights in a row now, so it will probably happen again tonight and I will go down and find out who's apt it is. My guess is that this will all go nowhere. It will probably last a couple of nights after the 4th and I guess we'll just have to deal with it. I'm pissed, but we are stuck in a lease...so what can we do.
